Production blog: Peer review and tweaks

As part of our filmmaking process, we engaged in peer review sessions where fellow filmmakers provided valuable feedback on our work.During these sessions, some reviewers expressed dissatisfaction with certain shots, particularly in regards to blending and coloring. Constructive criticism highlighted areas where our editing choices may have detracted from the overall visual cohesion of the film.Specific comments focused on inconsistencies in color grading, with some shots appearing overly saturated or mismatched with surrounding footage.  To finish filming Chapter 2, we need to capture a few important scenes. The sequence begins with the sound of my alarm going off. This moment signifies the start of a new day, filled with both excitement and anxiety. As I get out of bed, we want to convey a sense of urgency. Next, I’ll move to the kitchen to make breakfast. During the conversation, my friend tells me who my opponent is: JB. This is an important introduction, as JB has a notorious reputation in...

The excitement of capturing each scene has transitioned into the meticulous work of editing down all the clips we will be using. To begin, we gathered all the footage and organized it into folders based on scenes and takes. This made it easier to navigate through the material during the editing process. I spent several hours watching each clip, selecting the best takes that conveyed the story's emotions and action effectively. Some moments resonated more than others, and I carefully chose the clips that showcased the character's journey most compellingly. As I started assembling the timeline, I noticed some shots were a bit shaky, which could distract viewers from the narrative. Fortunately, the Lumix GH6 is known for its excellent video quality, so even the slightly shaky footage retained a lot of detail. I decided to use stabilization tools available in the editing software t...
