Cutting Time

Image
So as I said previously, we got the easy clips out of the way. Now it is time to cut down the clips that we filmed to fit in the time stamps of the song. This also helps because this will tell us how much time we have for the other clips. Conner is making the proper visual tweaks in the clips for the best visual presentation. After he finishes editing these clips, he is sending them to me. I will be putting these clips in Capcut and trimming them. In total we have one minute and thirteen seconds that we need to fill. I estimated that the three scenes we Filmed will take a  total of 35-40 seconds. Hopefully that is correct because that will leave the perfect amount of time for the other scenes and rest of the clips. Part of me is second guessing myself because Conner has access to the special version of Adobe and it may be more beneficial to use that. I have all of my expertise in Capcut and it may be easier to just use it. It’s hard for me to decide but never the less it’s going to tu

Filming The Easy Parts

Image
So filming went relatively easy today and went extremely smooth. To start, we redid our morning wake up scenes. We decided to film the breakfast making scene a certain way so that we can transition smoother between the two clips smoother. Our goal in mixing these two clips is two show that they are obviously changing but it feels the same. An example would be a high angle shot with an egg plate centered also recorded at the same height, the background is clearly different but it feels close. Right after we got out of school, we went directly to the gym to get a few clips. We were extremely pressed on time so we had to get a move on it. We only got one workout clips of eachother but even that took up a lot of time to the music video. At the end though its ok because the gym was just to help convey humor and a small detail. We filmed a brief clip of us doing tricep pull downs, I tried to make small conversation so we look slightly normal and not robots. There was this one skit that I wa

Prop Scouting

Image
Before we start filming, we need to have that full schedule plan and the more importantly, the props. There are few things that we discussed that we need to get and thats food. There will be multiple clips of us making either food on our own and together. I don't think we are making anything crazy, simple things like eggs and pasta (NOT TOGETHER). Most of the simple prop finding and shopping will be done by Conner and I am doing a lot if not all of the planning. When it comes to the planning, I need to find a day when and where my dad will not be busy so he can operate the jetski and me and Conner can film our clips on there. Adding to that, permission is a big thing annoyingly. When a person sees to teenage kids, they always think trouble. To add to that feeling of trouble, we will have a whole camera set up and that just makes the wrong impression. Im sure of the fact that we can permission to film in the stores we go to and I film in the gym all the time so I know that that wil

How Will We Make This?

Image
So Me, Conner, and Jake have made our group decisions of roles and have also being trying to settle some dates to get some filming in order. The roles of me and Conner are actors and jake will be doing mainly an extra character and cameraman if we need him. From personal experience, I am taking on the job of editing. I will probably end up using capcut as that is what I have most of my knowledge on however Conner Has Adobe Pro. From everything I have heard through word of mouth is that Adobe Pro is fantastic with the range of options it offers through its software. Regarding that I am the editor and tweaker. I also have a lot of access to props and things that help make up our filming. Conner has access to great equipment such as a great video camera and a drone. There are a few shots that I really want and that is a tracking shots and aerial footage. In class, we discussed how we need to make a story and the song needs to help establish that story. The story about "best day of m

Planning the video

Song Title  Central to every music video is the song. The heartbeat that gives life to the visuals. "Best Day of My Life" by American Authors is our muse, with the optimistic energy, and upbeat spirit. The song, which acts as a testament to seizing the day and making the most out of life's adventures, serves as our guiding star in this journey. Props Props can be the make or break of a music video, enhancing the storyline and amplifying the video's narrative. Drawing from the upbeat vibes of "Best Day of My Life", we plan on recreating "the perfect day". We plan on doing this by using props such as a phone, to represent getting text by your friend to hang out, a jet-ski to represent hanging out with that friend, and weights like dumbbells' and barbells to show us working out with that friend. All of these props are going to be used and aligned with the song to portray a "perfect day/weekend" with friends. Costumes Dressing the part

Research of Music

Choice of Group

Image
The person I chose for my group on the music video is Conner Cleary. The reason I chose Conner is because of his morale and commitment to projects. What also made this a super easy choice is the fact that Conner is a five minute walk from my house. There is also many benefits to working with Conner such as his equipment gear such as a video camera, better editing software, and drone footage. It's also a pleasure working with Conner because he is a very easy person to work with and personally we share many common ideas. At the end, it is without a doubt the more fun and optimal choice of a duo. Just to add, this will not be the first time that we have worked with each other, occasionally we film fitness videos and gym photoshoots together. As a duo dewcision we decided to make a quick vision of how we wanted our video style and layout of our music video to go. After that we just had to narrow down on what songs we could fit over this layout. We narrowed our song choices to cover mu
