Production blog: New plan
So we ran into some issues, because of sports, we ended up missing filming days and, my dad had a business trip and we could not film his scenes so we are re-planning some of the story. We weren't feeling our original opening scene idea either. The problem was that it just felt too much like a trailer instated of an opening scene. So, we decided to stick with the same story but the beginning is a girls' birthday party. Coincidentally, it also happened to be our friend's birthday in real life, so the timing worked out perfectly. The point of this is to make a conflict early in the story. There will not be much dialogue as it will mainly be music. This makes the dialogue conflict at the beginning. In this, it will be cutting in and out of a man in a nice car driving to deliver a package. This makes the setup plot of the story. The man delivers a package and then the mother comes to get it. Then she proceeds to give it to her son, he puts it on and then he makes a wish of his friend never being in the building. I thought wishing for someone to be erased from history is just to extreme but the same effect of loss can be done with this wish. This way we cover all the characters that would be in the movie. This also makes it so that the bracelet is used and the opening scene would be cut off right when the suspense of the friend vanishing starts. It was only until recently that i started noticing more and are opening scenes in movies. While the movies I researched did do an opening scene like how I planned where it flasesh small clips of the movie and the credits, it just wasn't working for me. So this switch up is more of a story playing by scene. I think that it is going to look much better and flow better. So filming will now start in a few days.
